  • Chemtrail Legislation Is The New Normal In A Severely Abnormal America

    Bloof ( profile ), 17 Apr, 2024 @ 12:37pm

    Let them try.

I hope that red states go all out on this and take the approach they have when it comes to abortion and end up writing laws that accidentally end up banning all air travel to, from and over their states thanks to overly vague legislation written by idiots to appeal to idiots. As we've seen with the panicked backpeddling on the unintentional bans on IVF, it's getting increasingly hard to blame the left for the consequences of laws created by republicans in republican controlled states which are upheld by Trump appointed judges who are lifetime republicans and member of the republican federalist society.

  • Will Elon Sue? NBC News Finds, Yet Again, That ExTwitter Has ‘Verified’ Neo-Nazi Accounts, With Ads Appearing Next To Their Content

    Bloof ( profile ), 17 Apr, 2024 @ 10:03am

'Don't talk to us, journalists!' 'Why won't journalists talk to us first?'

The same Twitter that spent a year autoresponding to journalists with a poop emoji? The same Twitter that still just shrugs in response to reports of hate speech from users while autocensoring the word cis? I'm sure they'd be suuuuper responsive to inquiries and suggestions from NBC.

He doesn't want to get rid of the Nazis because he wants to use Twitter to radicalise as many normies as possible before the elections or it becomes too much of a financial millstone for him to carry. Elon wants to normalise the beliefs of the worst kinds of sh*theads and shove the Overton window as far to the right as possible so the billionaire class face as little pushback as possible the next time that they Americans attempt to install a white nationalist dictator.

  • DeSantis Signs Bills To Create 25-Foot Halo Around Cops, Strip Oversight Boards Of Independence

    Bloof ( profile ), 16 Apr, 2024 @ 04:09am

Up and move to where? What do you say to Florida's poor and disenfranchised, those on gerrymandered districts surgically constructed to minimise their voting power, people who have never voted for DeSantis and don't have the kind of money or prospects that would enable them to just up and move? There are plenty of people who had no meaningful say in putting DeSantis in power, and are there because they have no other choice, saying these should GTFO or be wiped off the map is a lousy thing to say. Think, then do better.

So now all cops need to do is approach people filming to make them guilty of a crime if they don't back away. If this isn't overturned, it's pretty much guaranteed people of colour recording police wil either be arrested or shot for 'resisting arrest' as they back away from approaching cops to remain in compliance. 'They had something in their hand! That phone I saw they had could have been a gun! If they didn't have anything to hide they wouldn't have tried to flee!'

Given that it's Koby, I'd say they wouldn't verify his favourite white nationalist blogger/youtuber and that means they were biased against conservatives, or something, despite said blogger continually violating the terms of service they agreed to when joining the platform and somehow never getting banned permenantly, with any automated bans quickly reversed once Jack Dorsey got involved behind the scenes.

  • Fake ‘Pink Slime’ Propaganda Newspapers Surge Ahead Of Fall Election

    Bloof ( profile ), 15 Apr, 2024 @ 10:30am

Unfortunately america has discovered that the truth costs time and money to uncover and to defend, especially when it runs afoul of monied interests, meanwhile bullpoop can be produced at a massive scale and costs very little, and takes a lot of work to completely debunk, and those who produce it aren't going to be punished as long as their targets are deemed to be public figures.

  • Once Again, ExTwitter Makes Links Dangerous; The Kind Of Thing A Trust & Safety Team Would Catch

Sideshow Elon continues to step on rakes that everyone else told him shouldn't be laid on the ground like that. In five years time, Twitter's trust and safety team and policies will be back to where they were pre-takeover, after Elon has made every single mistake he can out of pure petulance.

  • An Only Slightly Modest Proposal: If AI Companies Want More Content, They Should Fund Reporters, And Lots Of Them

    Bloof ( profile ), 13 Apr, 2024 @ 12:47am

Welcome back from your 500 year coma, we have this thing called Wikipedia now, while not perfect you can skim through an get a good glimpse at how capitalism has gone in the time you've been asleep... Not good, as it happens. Not a lot of time and effort put into doing good, and the people super into AI gutting creative fields now are really pissed at anyone so much as perceived as trying to do the right thing by other humans, to the point they use the terms for equality programs to cover for slurs. Funny how that goes.

  • An Only Slightly Modest Proposal: If AI Companies Want More Content, They Should Fund Reporters, And Lots Of Them

    Bloof ( profile ), 11 Apr, 2024 @ 01:44pm

Kind of feels like the concept of trickle down economics, they could use the wealth they've accumulated to benefit all mankind/fund people to make quality content to fuel the machine... They won't, we know they won't, this never happens in the real world and no amount of think pieces suggesting it is going to make it so. The entire point of AI is to eliminate human jobs and create a new set of kings at the expense of everyone who works in a creative field, they're not even trying to hide that fact. The goal of AI is to do it cheaper, not better, no matter the cost to humanity.

  • Elon Musk’s Lawyer Faces Sanctions After Deposition Meltdown, While Engaging In Unauthorized Practice Of Law

    Bloof ( profile ), 11 Apr, 2024 @ 10:54am

Yes, the billion dollar industry you are describing is ALL OF AMERICAN HEALTHCARE aside from the religious organizations that were allowed to scam people by pretending to be medical insurance thanks tO a loophole in obamacare. Trans healthcare isn't easily accessible to adults, it certainly is not and has not been provided to every teen who's asked for it, no questions asked, because the US system is geared toward denying medical care full stop. If you had any proof aside from what Libs of Tiktok says on twitter when misrepresenting conversations with receptionists, you would be posting it, not going 'Oh golly gee, think of the children! Why aren't you thinking of the bad people doing bad things to children en masse that we have no specifics to back up? You're all bad people, not thinking of the children like that i9nstead of focusing on people like Elon who are actively defaming random teenagers and working to make the world worse! BE MAD AT TRANS PEOPLE AND THINK OF THE CHILDREN!' This is the same shit you assholes pulled with desegregation, gay rights, with abortion, with attacking religious minorities and popular culture, it's always about the children except it never is, it's always about finding some issue, or preferably a minority group to persecute as a distraction from all the actively evil things you support.

This is the quality of legal representation when the only people around you that you value are the ones using you for clout. Guy is trying to ingratiate himself with Musk by making a show of trying to mess up this deposition and become a go-to guy, the way Habba did with Trump, only he's smart enough and works for a prestigious enough lawfirm that he really, really ought to know better than to try and illegally practice law in a state where he has no familiarity with the law.

The difference is that the things Elon does is actually happeni9ng, while the things you feel we -should- be concerned about are just 4chan bigot grievance madlibs that have passed through the far right think tank filter. It's as real as litter trays in school for furries, but boy does it sound good as a thing that is totally happening that people should be mad at... Except whenever people ask for proof, there is none, if there were it would be EVERYWHERE, not just confined to far right blogs, youtube ranters and assholes in comment sections, shithead TERFs at the NYT would be eagerly and thoughtlessly signalboosting it. There is nothing, you have nothing but insincere shrieks of 'think of the children', the same kids you will eagerly see married off to people three times their ages the second they hit puberty should your theocratic dreams ever come to pass. If it ever did, you'd still be a mad incel, angry at some other group because nobody wants to be with a bitter husk, you'd be about as likely to get fucked in that universe as you are to have Elon love you back in this one.

  • Elon Claims Twitter’s Traffic Is At An All-Time High Because He Can’t Be Bothered To Understand The Misleading Data People Show Him

    Bloof ( profile ), 11 Apr, 2024 @ 05:49am

You know the site itself runs a weekly article linking to snapshots of the site's history so it's pretty easy to check how much the content and tone have changed, right? Not by much, as it happens. Techdirt have always been negative in their coverage of tech shitbags, Elon has always been a shitbag, the only things that have changed is he fired his PR people tasked with hiding his shitbaggery and for people on the right, now he's your shitbag so you'll defend him until he stops being useful.

I think it's more to send a signal that if corporations don't funnel even more money direct to republicans and the trump family and publicly endorse them, they:re fully prepared to start weaponising the government to force them to the moment Republicans have the Whitehouse.
