You, obviously, don’t understand what learning to program means. It is the obsolete technology that comes back to haunt you, if you had any real world experience. Too bad there are so many like you that fail to understand what programming is and is not, and are so caught up in “what’s new” that they don’t see that most of it is regurgitated “what’s old”.

Go and learn COBOL programming, Fortran programming, ALGOL and ALGOL 68, SIMULA and ML, even LISP or Scheme, and then see how little the modern languages have really changed.
