Bwahahaha, Mine wouldn't have been nearly as funny if not for that anonymous followup. Hat's off to who ever wrote that. :)
Tries to build a violin out of Quarks, but those are still too large.
Those who can't do, teach.
Those who shouldn't, govern.
Ok, dirt simple. I bought a laptop, Win10 pre-installed.
Where is my damn Install Media and License Key in case I have to replace the SSD? Media, License, play all the word games you want. This laptop is licensed for Win10 and Microsoft failed to provide a way to re-install the O/S in case of hardware failure.
Sorry, I started to read this article and got a pop-up asking if I wanted to pay an extra penny per byte to view a webpage from a "subversive organization" ...
:)
I first heard the name Diebold in the 80's, when they made ATM's we had to interface with. The ATM's were of questionable quality, so when the split off the Election Systems group, well, I didn't think they'd just dumped the best of their engineers into that group.
There is a reason they don't want you looking at the source code for their products.
"Too many writers bizarrely act as if you're not allowed to even acknowledge piracy exists because it's naughty."
Writers versus Journalists, yep. One writes what they get paid to write, the other writes about the real world. Sadly, we have very few of the latter group around now.
What part of "if they want to control what you can access, they benefit more than you" still isn't clear?
No problem. Find ever internet link coming out of Canada and cut it.
What's up with Germany these days?
You misspelled "decades". This is the country that made complaining about email spam illegal because you were violating the copyright of the spammer by forwarding their message in your complaint.
Just canceled with Comcast yesterday. Got the monthly bill last Saturday, noticed another price increase and started thinking about when I'd last watched cable TV. When I couldn't recall watching anything in the last few months, that cinched it.
The local OTA stations get me the PBS shows I like, on-line services get me the occasional movie or TV series.
MPAA: "How great is your loyalty?"
Dodd: "Without measure!"
MPAA: "We are happy to hear that. Fall on your sword ..."
"... Congress appears totally and completely out of touch ..."
And We The People keep electing them, so who's further out of touch?
The misunderstanding is about which artists are being supported. The music artists or the con artists. :)
McAT&GoApple want to be the only company left standing.
I keep thinking about that silly line from "Demolition Man", "But all restaurants are Taco Bell, they won the franchise wars". Yeah, it becomes less funny every year.
Uh, what happens when EVERY company that sells TV's is just as bad and you need a new TV? Don't like your life being sold as marketing data? Don't buy a TV?
How many people know enough and have a router smart enough, to configure a static IP address for that TV and then block that IP from EVER talking to an external IP again?
Lindsay Who? Wasn't that one of Henson's Muppet's that never got used because it couldn't be taken seriously, even by the puppeteers? :)
$2.2Mil per customer? Hey, I've got one of those TV's, what my cut of the settlement? :)
And working for one of the "weapons makers", IE network switch makers, I get to see Vz and everybody else always asking for more features that allow them to monitor/throttle traffic.
No, those cables/fibers are built on public right-of-way land. "No company suing a local government, city or state, may have it's contract renewed. Any infrastructure previously built reverts to local ownership."
The first place that makes that claim, makes it stick, watch others follow.
And watch NSAT&T, and the rest, have strokes.
