Now call me crazy, but I thought that meant if you query, track, or harass anyone you have every known you automatically lose your clearance and job. Guess not.
On a crazier side note there was a guy in my former department(married) that had 4 affairs with women there, and had a kid with one. He was able to keep it under the table, she magically got promoted two pay bands on the next interview block, AND he still is in his same position. So I'm sorry, but this kinds of unreported abuse does not surprise me.
Ok fine, so lets say its all public. Now what about anything that requires a username and password? That's private, not public. What about anything that is encrypted? That's private, not public. What about anything on a home or business computer? That's private, not public. Maybe I'm missing something really really big here, but that is all private and not public. So how is FISC legal again? Oh thats right, it's not.
All this really shows is how out-of-touch Congress has become with the people and how more in-touch they have become with big business. Have you tried making an apt with your congressman lately? It is about as easy as buying a house. Maybe if congress spent more time at home on recess and less time vacationing on lobbyists dime they would see the problems that lobbying create. When was the last time you heard of a senator or rep walking the streets of South Central LA or aurora IL?
Never thought I would say this, but I'm embarrassed as an American. I mean really, we look worse then a bunch of monkeys fracking a football. I can't believe my fellow Americans let this stuff fly and go unchecked. Its bad enough to shut down a city, terrorize its people, and then not even find the guy. But now the President wants to claim this as a win for the greater good NSA? I am at a lack of words.
Interesting story, and a reason why I do not support these programs short of read and discard style programing. I lent my work truck(Ram 3500) to a buddy back in 09. I had just finished going cross country with a race car via I-10 to Georgia from California. My buddy needed the truck to move from an apt to a house. He stayed at one of those weekly suit hotels till he closed on the house. After he moved I picked my truck up. On my way home I was pulled over and questioned. When I asked why I was pulled over I was told I had a license plate light out(it was 3pm). Long story short truck was searched and I was cited for bs charges that were ultimately dropped. When I went to the DA's office later to inquiry why I was truly pulled over I was informed my truck had been recorded through multiple states near the border and was then in a high drug flow area(my buddies old apt area). When I asked how they knew I went cross country, I was told they have a new plate tracking system that tracks vehicles and flags those in high crime areas. I didn't think much of it then because while annoying it seemed like a good idea, but here in 2013 it sure is a funny thing to wonder about.
I just read three great articles that I want to believe, but did not give one reference to any study or research that was talked about in the content. Truth is things like GMO are not all bad, things like Hydrogenated oils are. Let me help sell my point with two universities that back their points with research.
I was conflicted enough on this article that I had to join and comment. I understand we all get this as satire, but the target crowd for that letter was not us. I also believe Exxon has the right to get a disclaimer be placed that it is an ad not representing them(I do agree with EFF on Exxon not having the right to remove the ad as a whole though) Lemme explain.
This letter is written for the crazy at the grocery store getting us to sign a petition for something we have already researched and know is perfectly fine. This letter is written for the person who actually believes CSI uses real, currently available technology in the show and asks the Judge why so and so wasn't done while they are in a sitting Jury trial. This letter is for every troll who believes by posting something on the Internet you are somehow violating someones IP.
In short: There are really stupid people out there who believe that satire is true if placed in a commercial. If I were Exxon I would also be releasing commercials that show employee's with their kids at the plant being playful and cheery.

Fact of the matter is anyone with a clearance signed an agreement that basically gives your life away and does restrict what you read or write.
