Comcast et al would be a much more appropriate starting point.
He's a "federal officer" isn't he?
That, and people should all go to the websites of the supporters of this bill and start quoting from scripts/novels/whatever and then flag those posts as copyright infringing posts. If it's a news agency, write letters to the editor quoting some movie script without credit. Etc. Let them enjoy the resulting lawsuits/fines
Blame the mouse house for that. Copyright protection shouldn't last over a century. 15-20 years would be plenty. Imagine if art was allowed to enter our culture before it was forgotten.
Isn't this exactly what slander/libel laws are for? There's a video proving the act that the police claimed to have happened did not. The police officers made up the claim, so they knew it wasn't true, and it's pretty hard to believe it was anything other than a desire to punish someone for contempt-of-cop.
I know slander and libel can be hard to prove, but this one seems like it'd be pretty easy.
"Semantic nonsense" is how our system of laws works. It's also a great name for a post-industrial noise band.
Fingerprints are usernames, not passwords. It's not a good idea to confuse the two.
My class in advertising way back in the day left one particular lasting impression: those commercials that you hate? Advertisers love those because you remember the name when you're at the store.
Well WaPo has taken this to a new level. You have to pay to view their website now (I think you get one or two freebies, then it's paywall). This article is clearly going to incense a lot of people. And those angry people? They're going to want to go all YouTube-Comments on WaPo's ass. But first, they have to pay for the privilege.
Our understanding of addiction has been overturned. We know now that it's less about the object of the addict's focus, and more about the dissatisfaction with their lives. (see "Rat Park" etc.)
If kids are focused entirely on gadgets, perhaps that means they're missing a connection to family/friends that should be looked at.
It looks to me like it's not just the NYPD. It appears to be the city government over them as well. The NYPD brass has to report to someone. I'd say that they need to be dragged into it.
Ugh. I hate that the "US" is being lumped together as turning its back on NN. We all know it isn't the population of the US doing it, but corrupt saboteurs doing it. At the very least, it should say "US Government"
You call it "her own bill", but in reality she is just the messenger.
You misspelled 'complicit'
Pai has got to have such an easy job. He is handed his marching orders: obey the cable companies, ignore everyone else. And yet he keeps messing up. How incompetent a saboteur do you have to be to mess up something that easy? He's like a cartoon bad guy - Gargamel without the cat to save him from himself.
We need the "How it Should Have Ended" guys to start doing PR campaign parodies.
And I thought the voter suppression was bad!
Apparently Comcast missed the point where Phil had to learn to become an ethical and generous person before the loop stopped.
Net Neutrality clearly did not aid in the rise of white-supremacy. He should be ashamed of making stuff like that up. People need to stick to the facts. like how Net Neutrality causes autism.
But I look forward to the day that Comcast is mounted on a wall like Blockbuster is today - a memento of an extinct species.
Re: Selling bodycams to citizens
Wouldn't they be illegal in many states for recording people without their permission?
