china, russia, are standard examples of these control freaks.
lie, cheat , steal, kill is the dynamic.

(i'm looking at you, mike. what's in a day for you, contest-wize?)

the internet is being chocked off, the rest of the world will roar past us,

food, water, clothing, rent... ownership / control of means of services, production, managment.

  • Announcing Step2 — Our New Platform For Helping Creators Succeed

    packrat ( profile ), 13 Oct, 2011 @ 08:01am

    OK...

man, you'd hate me. I use computer generated music. ( fromcorl's VS 4 video editing )

and I've played for 40 years. They want GGOD stuf, they can pay for it.

the whole www is a fast, cheap and out-of-control excersise for me. traffic tells all.

outta the 69 vids, 365 comics, a couple megs of SF stories..... politics and hockey gets the most traffic. (say a couple hundred hits)

    everything else dies, still-born.

notices of new works gets spammed to friends, family, a couple soc networks and where rel on the chats/boards.

nothing so far. The market lives, is still dirty (more theives than customers and they want sex+violence)

gatekeeping? You betcha. AND there's a couple treaties allowing wholesale copyrighting of public domain, too.

prep for darknet, the rest of www will get slammed shut by disney + co.

  • Amazing: A Long, Detailed Article On Hollywood's Struggles… That Never Mentions File Sharing

    packrat ( profile ), 05 Mar, 2011 @ 06:28pm

    point

got a 100 million $ you don't mind tossing away? (I think 8/10 movies are still failures).

Hollywood hits the formula hard. People it. (stargate went by the numbers, longest lived, most successful spinoffs, merchandized all to hades, etc)

this is all the golden mean (sterling's twight zone, anyone?) being applied. Nothing new.

movies as a brand? Can you say spiderman? Argue with moiney. Quality over quanity? entertainment is the good guy winning. (ANY star trek episode)

You want content to supersede form and delivery?

har-har-har-har... um... thinking doesn't sell well, but you're welcome to try it.. You drug dealing, child=molesting evolutionist. Everything/ anything is a motherhood issue to (a rabid loon) someone.

think smoking. even determined efforts to stomp it out, or promot 'healthy' living, etc.

Delivery control to be rock-solid? They'd cut their own throats post-haste if they had it. (Look at quality control in ANY monopoly situation. (the wqater+power freaks can now put on their tinfoil hats for a couple minutes)

It's a GREAT way of destroying them, by me. Check the sprio agnew censorship models on (childrens cartoons) sometimes. When enough people left TV, they changed the model.

sad fact. To get around entrenched deadwood, you create a NEW tv station, unburdened with blue-bloods, suits, burn-outs etc.

    and hope.

we ARE that new TV station. Surfing a lynch mob.
being nibbled to death by internal and external !DUCK!s tape(worms)

now go prove it, and remeber that 100 million $ gets a LOT of attention from .. some fairly unscrupulous' players.

ops : 3d gen AI composers

I myself take a GREAT pleasure in telling industries how fast they've become obsolete.

a standard feature in my film editor is automated music; it's tremendous leap in automated music. (auto tempo from scene changes etc)

no great stretch to see the same AI in essay writing and productions of ANY kind; web sites, hate campaigns, distraction news, real time virtualization...

cut+paste sampling is kinda dead, just another tool. auto-tuned automated AI generated composition will wipe the whole industry clean real soon.

you graduated this year? Congrats, you're obsolete.

    where do I start?
Humor is suprise, synethsis or cultural supernormal stimualtion. take my wife... please.

it is ALSO (sex, violence, humor) the highest inteltectual function most people are capible of.

the crowd courcing done at cracked is'you do it, I keep all the money' THEN you try to cash in on a reputation (names mean traffic, right?)

I regard most acta, current copyright etc as a the biggest landgrab in history and use the net for (my) practice.

    acta, etc.

another comic about copyright? Hot damn, they're FINALLY sinking to the right level.

balanced copyright? Public domain? free speech?

Buy the union label. public domain IS the web problem.
free speech is a function of how much effort you want to put into it.

--- clip from another email i shoulda forwarded here.---
    from we the radical types...
A brief summary of copyright actions lately.

a billion dollar spam award in quebec.

    well, well, well...

1:the web: privacy, property and freedom of information.

2:the politics: the evolution of property from monopoly to interest (rights to interest)

3: the economy: the new corporate-interest (reg. capture) in action

SO.. we the radical types are betting that spam gets to be a privileged-preserve of the elite, NOT a personal liberty, freedom or prerogative.

With VERY selective entry requirements, both public, regulatory and ownership.

The web was used to squash radical politics, open markets, and now is starting in on biz competition.... or personal freedoms?

    pat donovan

PS: get real, e-people. Anyone who doesn't consider the current copyright issues
