For once Mike's charge of "felony interference with a business model" might be a valid charge.
The "right to be free FROM expression" is one way to many people think they have. Hence all the stupid lawsuits we see here on this site over bad reviews or comments that offend someone. So Mr. Armenta has no monopoly on this kind of stupidity as there are no shortage of lawyers willing to push cases like this.
All Time Warner has to do is cancel it's service with the City and then sign up using a different name. Then it will get all the same deductions and incentives the city is offering new customers..er I mean new providers.
Didn't the mafia use a similar line of reasoning when offering "protection" for various businesses.
"That's a nice documentary film you got there. Be a shame if anything happens to it"
So I invent something useful for society, and yet my ability to profit of of it is significantly shorter then some guy who then walks up and takes a picture of it?
Not that the copyright length is reasonable, but doesn't that strike anyone as having our priorities backwards?
This is England we're talking about, it's time to get medieval. If they simply cut out their tongues and cut of their fingers, that would stop the communication as well, and then everyone will go back to being productive members of society again.
I know some judges like to quote movies when responding to filings. I think this one is appropriate:
"Mr. Wolk, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
The above is of course is not intended to imply an factual information about Mr Wolk's intellect.
