I've learned most of what I know about Bluesky from Mastodon and Lemmy but I trust you more than random people on those platforms.
"Given a crime, police might canvas a neighborhood looking for witnesses.... None of that requires probable cause." Any potential witnesses approached by the police have the option to give the police info or withhold it. Google does not have the option and will likely do what costs them the least amount of money.
Almost all of the reporting, including here, has missed the reason why moderators are upset. Reddit does not provide a viable way for the mods to actually moderate. The official apps are garbage which gave rise to many 3rd-party apps. These 3rd-party apps give the moderators the tools needed to provide free work for reddit. Charging everyone for API access makes the apps too costly to run. Now, moderators will have to use the official apps slowing down their work. This will result in more spam and hate-speech, especially in the large forums.
Donating bitcoin requires my name and address!
Why do you make it so hard to give you my money?
I was going to give a few $ but I am not signing up for another website. Where is the bitcoin donation address?
Every year my son's teachers ask for classroom supplies so they do not need to buy out of their own pockets. Tissues and copy paper are always in short supply. Just today, I sent in some dry erase markers to one of the teachers.
Sell that MRAP and buy all the teachers copy paper!!
This.
My rep said yes. I am calling to say thank you.
I deleted my RSS feed to LA Times and don't really miss it. I am in a better mood not knowing all the scary things (car thefts) that happen in my neighborhood!
I have been to more than one of these in NY. About 1.5 hrs north of NYC. They did NOT have the slingshot though!!
"Sales price has nothing to do with value."
the actual sale price is very tied into the value.
from merriam-webster online
value = the monetary worth of something : market price
exactly. aren't there non-disclosure agreements or something similar for documentaries?
"Is that what the CEO means when he says price is marketing?"
That is exactly the way I understood it.
They could use blockbusters to subsidize flops.... but that would only work for developers with a large catalog. Smaller developers would have less pricing flexibility.
it would be cool to see their sales numbers.
I think so. If the games are left at the lower price point, the perception of value would most likely decrease.
Also, what about titles that don't sell as well? These low sellers may require a higher price point to support their creation than a blockbuster.
Were you trying to ironic? This topic focuses on George Lucas only. Kevin Smith is totally different subject.
Straight to DVD typically means the movie sucked.
Second time this week I am agreeing with TAM. It seems like TAM got a reputation and now when people see his posts they go WHARRGARBL, even if TAM is making valid points.
It is closer to 500 cameras.
This story has been all over the local news recently. The CHP will be installing 480 cameras in and around Oakland. There should be around 300 on Oakland streets with the remaining on state freeways running through Oakland. It is assumed CHP will be in control but exact details are murky. https://sfstandard.com/2024/03/29/newsom-to-install-500-surveillance-cameras-in-oakland-to-fight-crime/ The CHP, which normally operates on state highways, has had several "surge" operations in Oakland to assist the PD with sideshows and stolen vehicles.
