BINGO the current authority figures have done ABSOLUTELY nothing to gain the respect of the young.
You don't earn respect trying to stamp out any and every attempt to express themselves and certainly don't by watching them via CCTV from the second they leave their house until the time they come home.
Talk about mixed signals they are told they have freedom but every time they start to use that "freedom" the so called "authority figures" say oh wait no, no, no you can't do THAT we meant you could only do what we want you to do which fits in this nice little box because when you go outside the box it rocks our apple cart.
The RIAA is just another example of "authority figures" trying to limit their freedom so of course they aren't going to pay any attention and most likely do the opposite of what the RIAA wants them to do.

Usually I agree with you but being a programmer I have to agree with the other commenters the onus is on the developer to create a well designed app that doesn't have a memory leak.
A large IT department can't upgrade all clients just because an app is poorly designed. The cost in manpower alone going to each computer and installing memory would be ridiculous just so employees can have a third party social app.
When the developer fixes his app then they could use the app. It's lazy programming to say just upgrade your computer because I don't want to fix my program just yet.

No one has said the next judge should be part of the Pirate Party but just because they are not a member of the RIAA it doesn't mean they are a member of the Pirate party or a supporter of copyright infringement.

How is talking about the way Apple does business unrelated to an article about Apple erroneously rejecting an iphone app?
Apple has done this since it started. They want to control your computing experience and not allow you any flexibility to choose what you want to do with the hardware you purchase. Microsoft won control of the desktop because Apple made the same mistakes in the 80's as they are now. Apple will never be able to beat Microsoft because they will not change their philosophy of restricting user choice. As soon as a phone comes out that gives me the same functionality as the Iphone along with more choices I will switch to it in a heartbeat. For now the iphone is worth the hassle of dealing with Apple, one day that will change.
I can't disagree more with that statement. If all movies and games were discounted 75% I could certainly see myself purchasing up to 10x more of them. 50$ for a game (that sometimes only take 8-10 hours to finish) and 30$+ for a movie is insane when they can be sold online with practically no cost other than the initial cost of development.
@ TheDock22 - are you being intentionally obtuse? It is absurd to think that after getting out of the business of producing "netBooks" 10 years ago one should still have rights to the name. If a company is not producing a product then that company is not harmed when someone uses the "trademarked" name. The whole point of a trademark is to stop companies from using a well recognized name to benefit from another company's success NOT so you can make a grab for money 10 years after discontinuing to use the trademarked name. Give me a break!
