    What Consent Agreement

Trumps first day...he revoked the Baltimore consent agreement. Police good...crime infested inner cities (as he likes to call them)...bad

    Move Along

This is a big nothing burger. All the screaming and gnashing of teeth by republicans about security is laughable. The State Department was hacked. Nobody as of yet has shown Clinton's server was hacked. The simple fact is nobody really knows much of anything because the letter Comey sent was so vague. From what I have picked up today, most of if not all of the emails arent even addressed to or from Clinton. They simply went through her server. They could also be emails the FBI already has but needs to verify. All in all Chaffetz acted irresponsibly tweeting about the letter and misrepresenting the investigation. His head should be the one that rolls, but it wont. Unfortunately his misrepresentation of the information was picked up by the media who went on like rabid dogs. Just goes to show, its not about truth. Its about who gets their story out first facts be damned.

    Just Use Linux

I have been using Ubuntu Linux since Dapper Drake (end of 2005). I kept a windows box for all the things I couldnt do or were too difficult with Linux. 11 Years later and its amazing the progress that Linux has made. There are occasional command line tweaks, but in general its a good out of the box system that YOU have control over, and there is very little (if anything) that you would need as an average day to day user that you cant do that you need windows for. If you havent looked at Linux as an alternative in a while...you need to take another look. Its always improving.

    Cherry Pick Much?

Ok. This is bad on several levels. First just a couple of stories previous you seem to take issue with Turkish emails that WL released that contained private info, but dont care to mention that WL failed to redact all of the donor info in these emails ss#'s names and addresses as well as credit card numbers. That in and of itself is enough to despise them. Dont try to tell me they could not have redacted innocent people's info and still reported the story. Now, about the story (or non story). Bernie was telling everyone this was happening months ago and they acted accordingly. So it really isnt big news. Most people see DWS as beyond inept so her firing is not a sad day for almost anyone (only wish it had been sooner).
As for Russia, as the day has proceeded there is much more evidence being presented that Russia was indeed involved, and that the Trump campaign has some unmistakable ties to Putin via Paul Manafort or the Trump organization itself which is highly leveraged to Russian Banks since he cant get financing. You site Jeffery Carr yet his reporting has received a thorough takedown from Josh Marshall. You should check the links and generally do a less sloppy job of reporting than you did on this one (something I will say you rarely do...but you are way off here).

    The response to Carr

Josh Marshall has been on this from the beginning questioning the cozy Russian ties. You'd do well to read both

Re: Re: Who Do You Trust?

Actually, the point was trying to be made that they should not be treated differently. My point is that they are not remotely the same and should not be considered the same way. The second statement was to counter "Hillary Shill" type replies. I dont think Mrs Clinton gets fair treatment in the press. I think that is easily backed up by my original comment

Re: Re: Let us clarify this:

Question...did you vote in 2000? If so, you should possibly retract that head position. I can only imagine how different our world would be had people such as yourself hadnt died on your cross and took the rest with you.

    Who Do You Trust?

There has been so much bad reporting about this email server its hard to know WTF to believe. Just this week the WAPO reports that over 150 FBI special agents are working the case, which of course all media outlets ran with only to retract it 2 days later as inaccurate. Of course putting it out there with a much less sensationally placed retraction doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence on ANY of this reporting. The NYT claimed a criminal investigation only to retract it. Similar events have happened all over the press. We are talking about someone who for 30 years has had to fight allegations that have been false been humiliated by a whitewater investigation that could only produce Monica Lewinsky?!?
While I think the treatment of Mr Drake is outrageous and should never have transpired that way...this is a real apples/oranges comparison...not particularly worthy of Techdirt IMO. FYI...I support Bernie, but I think these things need to be fair. We really dont know whats going on with this email crap...almost anything you read should be taken with a huge grain of salt. I've read that the logs on her server state it was never hacked (politico)...and I find that just as hard to believe...but again, there is know way for me to know, nor anyone else out there who says otherwise.

    Comcast is Afraid

Being an Atlanta resident who just had need of a Comcast service call this weekend because line quality (noise in the line)has been horrible, I had an "off the record" chat with the guy who came out. He said they were really worried about Googles roll out in ATL. He said they are working so hard to upgrade lines that they keep screwing stuff up (thus noise in the lines...not very good with internet service). Really though, it doesnt look like Comcast is trying very hard, if you ask me.

    Re: Re: Anti-Adblock killer

I would rather support the people who are actually working to create the options. This literally worked with about 3 clicks (I already had greasemonkey installed)

    Anti-Adblock killer

I've been using this for a couple of days and it works on Forbes and Wired. I had white listed Wired in Adblock Plus and yet they still blocked me. If they aren't smart enough to get that right why on earth would I allow untrusted javascript to run. Anti-Adblock Killer is a Greasemonkey script (you can use it different ways

    Pete Peterson

My interest always perks up a bit when I hear the Peterson Institute is involved. Its founder Peter G Peterson has spent nearly 1 BILLION in think tank propaganda to try and convince Americans that the US Debt will cause a financial crisis...NOW, and we have to cut Medicare, and Social Security...NOW or doom will follow. He is the one that funded Simpson Bowles (when their funding ran out), and they both serve on the board of the PI. He also funds the "No Labels" and "Third Way" organizations...and it would horrify you to see the list of people with truly large conflicts that get funding from him. Remember Reinhart/Rogoff...peterson funded...and wrong.

I'm Sure They Are Easy to Bypass

If, in addition to running ad blocking software you are also blocking scripts (like noscript)these blockades are not that hard to get around. Find the script thats sniffing out your ad blocker and forbid it either in adblock plus or noscript. Some are more challenging than others, but usually can be beat. I do agree, however, its usually just easier to move along somewhere else and not be bothered.

    Pre-roll Ads

I will do whatever it takes to block these type of ads. Watch a 30sec ad for 2 mins of content...really?? Whats worse is when on a a long video you have to watch the SAME AD every 6 or 7 mins.
I've used AdBlock + for years and my list of custom blocking rules are quite long. BTW, its not that hard to opt out of AB+ "allowed" ads...just uncheck the box

    Smart Watches...REALLY?

You know, when you started these podcasts I had high hopes for some really good topics that mirrored the content you provide...controversial topics.
This just screams BORING and IRRELEVANT ...I'm sorry, but sometimes someone just has to say it (and no, I didnt listen to it...had no desire to)

    who cares if its capped

Currently in the ATL market...Comcast service is capped somewhere between 200-300 gigs per month. If they make it so much easier to push those limits with higher speeds...thats where they will stick it to people...I'm holding out for Google here in ATL

  • Apr 01, 2015 @ 10:46am

    Does He Have Legal Option

If Comcast fraudulently lead him to believe that he would have service that was critical to the purchase of the house, can he not sue Comcast for damages? Seems like fraud to me

    Her District

I would love to see a study of broadband penetration in TN's 7th District (that she represents). I'm willing to bet its one of the least served and most expensive in the country. Go Marsha! Taking voting against whats best for your district to new heights.
